Slice Wireless Solutions Provides Internet For The NBA All-Star Game Festivities
The 2015 NBA All-Star Game was the 64th edition of the superstar-laden exhibition which brings together the most talented players in the league for a global celebration of the game. Making its return to New York City after nearly 16 years, the 3 day event held its primary festivities in Madison Square Garden and The Barclays Center. NBA mania took over New York City for the entire month of February with multiple events taking place across the city including the NBA’s own NBA House presented by BBVA Compass, held at The Skylight Group’s Moynihan Station venue.
The NBA needed an extremely fast internet connection in the venue for the entire month of February and issued an RFP to gauge interest from service providers. Slice Wireless Solutions was selected out of the dozens of submitted RFPs and chosen to provide internet services for the event. What made Slice appealing to the NBA? We were the only company that could deliver up to a 10gb connection over fiber at the venue.
The ResultsSlice delivered a network hand-off to the NBA of a 1gb fiber connection and enabled them to distribute bandwidth to their executive team, TV trucks and guests throughout the course of the event. Celebrities, athletes and TV personalities regularly visited the space throughout the month took full advantage of the WiFi network and lighting fast speeds.
